MA European Studies - specialization in International Relations

MA in International Relations

Two years (4 semesters)

ECTS points

Apart from the fact that Europe has been for several years in the state of crisis there still is a great demand for specialists on European Union/integration in Europe itself and in the rest of the world. Contrary to other disciplines the graduates of European studies have a great opportunity to find the job on local, central/national and European level.

In order to meet this need European Studies specialization is realised within interdisciplinary model of teaching, including historical, political, legal, cultural, economic and social aspects of European integration. Due to this holistic approach the complex process of integration and functioning of the EU are easily understandable for students. Special attention is given to the communist experience of the CEESs and their position and role in contemporary Europe.

Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is the vital study concept applied within the studies. PBL requires students to take an active part in discussions. This applies equally to lectures. Furthermore, a great emphasis is put upon English learning as a working language of European institutions (learning of French is also envisaged). The theoretical knowledge is combined with practice as students receive negotiation skills and experience to apply for European grants.

The charge of 2000 PLN/year applies for Polish and the EU/EFTA citizens.
2500 EUR/year for students from outside the EU/EFTA, exclusive of an additional 120 EUR charge that covers administrative fee (for students of Polish origin the tuition is reduced by 50%).
