The interfaculty Master’s degree course ‘Spatial Development and Planning’ is run by the Faculty of Geographical Sciences and the Faculty of Management. It offers specialist knowledge in the field of sustainable planning of cities and regions and shaping the environment in accordance with human needs, technical possibilities and the principles of spatial order and environment protection. The program of study is focused on spatial problems in urbanized areas and ways of resolving them. It emphasizes the importance of public spaces in the functioning of cities and the role of cultural heritage in their unique character and identity. Students analyse the determinants, processes and effects of spatial development in close connection with the practice of making the planning decisions. The studies improve the ability to use computer software supporting the process of spatial planning.
