First year
First year of study is considered successfully completed if the following conditions are met: credit is awarded from all obligatory courses (Module of teaching: Methodology of the humanities and elements of the philosophy of science. Module grade is computed as arithmetic mean of grades awarded for each 15h-long course; Joint seminar for doctoral candidates at the institute; Module: Culture studies as discipline of science. Module grade is computed as arithmetic mean of grades awarded for each 15h-long course; Health and safety; Modern language course (C1 level)) as well as from at least one optional course from the group of courses for didactic skills development (Teaching methods; Visiting classes taught by academics), earning at least 8 ECTS points from courses for the professional skills development (Teaching through projects; Drafting academic papers; Culture critique; Methods of research results presentation; Ars Quaerendi), completion of 15 hours of teaching pracitce, submission of the yearly statement accepted by the supervisor – as described in the Charter of Doctoral Candidate Achievements (Karta Osiągnięć Doktoranta).

Second year
Second year of study is considered successfully completed if the following conditions are met: credit is awarded from all obligatory courses (Joint seminar for doctoral candidates at the institute; Contemporary cultural identities; Module: lecture announced as the specialised course – “Main problems of the contemporary humanities”. Module grade is computed as arithmetic mean of grades awarded for each 10h-long course; Intercultural relations and communication) as well as from at least one optional course from the group of courses for the didactic skills development (Teaching methods (part 2); Visiting classes taught by academics), publication of one research paper, completion of 15 hours of teaching pracitce, submission of the yearly statement accepted by the supervisor – as described in the Charter of Doctoral Candidate Achievements (Karta Osiągnięć Doktoranta).

Third year
Third year of study is considered successfully completed if the following conditions are met: credit is awarded from all obligatory courses (Directions of contemporary culture; Joint seminar for doctoral candidates at the institute; Module: lecture announced as the specialised course – “Man, dialogue, development as methods of thinking about culture”. Module grade is computed as arithmetic mean of grades awarded for each 10h-long course) as well as from one optional course from the group of courses for the didactic skills development (applicable to doctoral candidates who have not earned at least 5 ECTS points for courses from this group duirng previous years), completion of 15 hours of teaching pracitce, publication of one research paper, submission of the yearly statement accepted by the supervisor – as described in the Charter of Doctoral Candidate Achievements (Karta Osiągnięć Doktoranta).

Fourth year Fourth year of study is considered successfully completed if the following conditions are met: credit is awarded from all obligatory courses (Conversatory classes in the chosen academic discipline as preparation for the doctoral examination), completion of 15 hours of teaching pracitce, publication of one research paper, submission of the yearly statement accepted by the supervisor – as described in the Charter of Doctoral Candidate Achievements (Karta Osiągnięć Doktorant).

Completing the programme
The conditions for graduation: earning at least 42 ECTS (including: 29 ECTS from obligatory courses, at least 5 ECTS from courses for the didactic skills development, at least 8 ECTS from courses for the professional skills development, and 60 hours of teaching practice), submission of the completed, approved doctoral dissertation to the faculty board (which had previously agreed to open the Doktor title conferral procedure), having passed the examination in a foreign language at C1 level, publication of at least two research papers, and submission of a research grant application during the period of study.
